The Seoul Subway Line 1 Yongsan Express Train is one of the key express routes connecting the Gyeongbu Line and Gyeongin Line, designed to provide faster access between Seoul’s downtown and southern satellite cities.
Yongsan Station, jointly operated by Korail and Seoul Metro, serves as a major interchange point for express services.

As of 2025, Yongsan-bound express trains mainly operate toward Incheon, Cheonan, and Sinchang, cutting travel times by around 15–20 minutes compared to local trains.
During rush hours, express services are more frequent, catering primarily to daily commuters from suburban areas.

  • Best Transfer Options: Yongsan connects to Gyeongui-Jungang Line, ITX-Cheongchun, and near Line 4 (Ichon), making it a key interchange hub.
  • Time-Saving Benefit: Using express trains can reduce total travel time from Sinchang–Yongsan from 1h 20m → about 1h.
  • Crowded Hours: Between 07:00–09:00 (morning rush), expect high crowd levels between Byeongjeom–Geumcheon-gu Office. Boarding earlier at Gasan Digital Complex is recommended.
  • Major Transfer Stations: Geumjeong (Line 4), Suwon (Bundang Line), Yeongdeungpo (Line 5 in future plan).
